"I've thoroughly enjoyed the previous Virtual Villager games. But this one I'm going to have to pass on. I know that some may consider it "just a game", but the idea of "converting heathens", tearing down their totems, and frightening them into submission to your will using "god-given powers" is a bit over the top for me, and definitely not the direction I ever imagined the series to go in. A very disturbing turn for what was a very enjoyable casual game series for the entire family."

"Usually love this series but I'm not feeling this one yet. Couldn't figure out what to do on this one and it took almost the whole trial to make some headway. Want to purchase it but think I will wait."

"I have played, and thoroughly enjoyed, all of LDW's time-management games but this one just didn't do it for me. I downloaded the 60-minute trial version to give it a try before purchase, but sorry to say I didn't even last the hour playing it. The initial scenes were just too "busy" for me. Usually, you start the game and have to achieve something like gathering food, building a hut or starting a camp fire, but none of these seemed evident and you were left wondering what to do. You could build a food bin by using palings from the fence but then how did you start to gather food? I also found that the heathens stopped 'listening' to you after a very short time. There was just so much going on that I quickly became bored through not having a clear objective. Maybe I didn't give the game long enough to get into it properly, but in the previous versions I've gotten engrossed very quickly, so my gut feeling told me I'd get frustrated with this one. A disappointment. "

"I am really not complaining at all and I find the whole issue of believers/non believers a nice touch that makes the game more challenging. And a challenge it certainly is! I have torn down most of the totems by now except for the blocking totem. I've played all of the other VV-games, but this one is the best ever! Not only must I consider how my little tribe can survive by figuring out how to overcome the many obstacles they are facing - it is also necessary to get as much Divine Energy as possible. This is done by collecting relics and persuading heathens to take off their masks and join the tribe. Divine Energy can be used to "buy" power-ups that are needed to solve the puzzles. By the way: this heathen-stuff has absolutely nothing to do with religion. The heathens just doesn't believe in you and that means that you can't control them. This is where your tribe comes in. They are telling the heathens what a great guy you are and very slowly they are convinced and join your tribe. There are three types of heathens: the persuadable blue ones, the aggressive yellow ones and the scary red ones. Just try it out! If you loved the other VV-games, don't miss this one! "
